Source: BBC

"The president also signed orders granting Russian citizenship to any foreign national who signs up to serve a year in the country's military. "

This statement was part of the article and was referring to Putin.

I'm wondering if Putin is going to grant citizenship plus an apartment in a high rise building to those who won't fight.

Now I responded to you and it was meant for another post. I called their pupper 'Cutie Pie' and auto-suggest made it 'Curie Pie'. Madame Curie Pie? 😆

As tantalizing as that sounds, I'll take a pass.

Hopefully Pootie will fall out of a window soon.

as if people are crowding airports to get IN to Russia.

edited to say: russian citizenship sounds more like a punishment than a reward.

It's kinda funny seeing previous war supporters suddenly try and proclaim pacifism now that they're expected to fight.

And, thankfully, it's a realization that some nations leadership has had.

Several other neighbouring states have already ruled out offering asylum to Russians seeking to avoid the draft.

"Many Russians who now flee Russia because of mobilisation were fine with killing Ukrainians," Latvia's Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs said. "They did not protest then. It is not right to consider them as conscientious objectors."

Hopefully other nations pull their heads out of their ass and follow in these nations lead.
