Biden on classified docs discovery: 'There's no there there'

Source: Associated Press

APTOS, Calif. (AP) — A frustrated President Joe Biden said Thursday there is “no there there” when he was persistently questioned about the discovery of classified documents and official records at his home and former office.

“We found a handful of documents were filed in the wrong place,” Biden said to reporters who questioned him during a tour of the damage from storms in California. “We immediately turned them over to the Archives and the Justice Department.”

Biden said he was “fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly.”

“I think you’re going to find there’s nothing there,” he said. “There’s no there there.”

for appointing a special counsel to the case, where a few docs were misfiled and immediately reported to NARA and the DOJ when discovered, but the DOJ's SC move elevated the public perception of it as equal to the hundreds of stolen doc trump case.

I wonder if Garland will be the AG in Biden's second term, as he hasn't distinguished himself during his tenure — no real positive, unhesitant, assertive moves to get to justice for the worst attempted coup threat to democracy and the country since the Civil War, and, not to mention the fake electors case, the election deniers still serving in Congress, and of course the stolen documents case.

said that some of Biden's staff/allies were upset with Garland, while others were not.

The others felt that the SC investigation will "ultimately confirm how cooperative and serious Biden and his team have been about an honest mistake."

Biden is unhappy with the comparisons to Trump -- who wouldn't be?
But nowhere did the article say that Biden himself was upset with Garland.

So the reactions within the WH are a mixed bag... not a blanket unhappiness with Garland. In my reading, anyway.

If Joe gets re-elected, I'd bet Garland would be one of those who leave/is encouraged to leave.

NYT had this: 68 Days of Silence: Why the White House Stayed Mum on Classified Documents.

Sorry, I won't link to that.
