“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

I wonder if the poor migrant was shot with a 9mm pistol round (bad) or 5.56mm rifle round (worse)? M16A2 exit wounds can be nasty.

now we will hear about how threatened the soldier felt. The authorities will say he saw something at the end of the migrant's arm and thought it was a weapon but only later realized it was his hand. Then in the final absolution of the soldier they will say "nobody could have known that someone would have a hand at the end of their arm and therefore no action will be taken."

he claimed the Us government was not doing its job. Mostly, these guys have just been sitting around doing nothing, as several have said to the media, and wasting taxpayer money that could be used instead to help communities deal with the influx of migrants. Those communities need help because they’re not large cities and they already have a lot of poor residents. Adding thousands of migrants per day to the mix results in poor services for everyone.

Pretending soldiers are the same as cops is the same stupidity as putting cops in schools and calling the "resource officers."

Were they armed? If not, why was a gun fired? I hope they determine if a use of force was necessary.

There was one shot fired from a pistol during a struggle where the guardsman was struck several time, the suspect was shot in the shoulder and was taken to the hospital, not much more than that.
