The Biden administration denied multiple media reports that it will announce its approval next week of a controversial Arctic oil drilling project long opposed by environmentalist and Native American groups.
CNN, The New York Times and Bloomberg reported on Friday that the Interior Department will officially give ConocoPhillips the nod to proceed with the Willow Project, an $8 billion endeavor that would be the single largest oil operation in the U.S., next week. A White House official denied the reports to The Hill, however, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Friday that no final decision had been made.

(30,813 posts)Clinton took many of the GOP positions, tweaked them to be a bit more left, and implemented them. Welfare reform was one example. They were pushing the welfare queens with Cadillacs stories until the whole nation was just steaming about it. Then Clinton put through reforms. It took the teeth out of the Republican's efforts to oppose him. He went on to become a very popular president.
Biden has verbally backpedaled a bit on the immigration issue and now is suggesting an Alaskan pipeline approval? Even if that never happens (and I really hope it doesn't!), people will hear this and it will help neutralize the disgruntlement over oil prices.
