Manhattan DA Bragg privately warns of intimidation after Trump calls for protest
Source: Politico
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg offered a private retort to Donald Trumps message Saturday urging supporters to protest his expected indictment, telling office employees in an email that we do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York, according to a copy obtained by POLITICO.
Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment, Bragg wrote, adding that the office has been coordinating with the New York Police Department and Office of Court Administration, the administrative arm of the court system in New York.
Bragg added that as with all of our investigations, we will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly, and speak publicly only when appropriate. In his email, Bragg didnt identify Trump by name, referring only to the public comments surrounding an ongoing investigation by this office.

I think in General Discussion today there was a "Patriot" (paraphrasing now) calling for his brothers to join him in a human shield down at Cheeto's residence. Wants to have as many people as come to the Hadj. Mr. Bragg has every right to read what the turd wrote and see it as a threat.

(7,632 posts)At least as far as them doing so en mass in the NYC area and just one or two show up and are laughed out of the area in embarrassment by a flash mob from Cornell or arrested if they try something stupid.
Or if by some miracle enough show up at the DA's to pose a threat, in a new attempt at even handedness by by New York's finest, I hope they get the same treatment BLM got out in St Louis, i.e., they get the shit beat out of them.
IDK, failing that, maybe a deranged one will assault a Starbucks or something elsewhere in the country and get their ass handed to them.
Whatever, at any rate, this is going to be the very start of the festivities.

(30,811 posts)Having interacted with them many times over 25 years, Id be careful counting on NYC to offer much resistance to local MAGA protestors. They prob know each other well. The Manhattan/Queens/Brooklyn population is NOT the same as the police force that mostly comes from Staten and Long Island.
