(8,020 posts)Shopping frenzy ending and the disastrous Fed response causing people to pull back even more.
Items on Amazon have become very expensive due to inflation.
People no longer have the money afford to buy "stuff" on Amazon.
Inflation is destroying America

(6,931 posts)Who buy things over there and then jack the price 2/3 times and drop it on Amazon for sale. It's laughable many times when looking at computer components. They used to have everyone duped into thinking Amazon has to be a cheap as a product price can be--or close enough.
Nah..............

(8,820 posts)I go to Amazon to find the exact item I want.
Then I google that exact item.
There are a ton of places who charge less for that exact same item and ALSO offer free shipping.
I researched a ladder I wanted about two months ago. When I found it, I went out on the internet and guess what?
The exact same ladder that Amazon wanted 125 bucks for, was available from the ladder's manufacturer for 75 bucks. Free shipping.
Every time I want to buy something I follow this routine. I would guess that I buy the item 75% of the time from some other supplier.

(20,870 posts)That is going on where I live. Amazon tells the recipient to keep what they have received rather than attempt to return it to them.
Products being sold are questionable imo.
I ordered the coffee I like 3X. The first time it was ok; last two times it was expired in a few weeks.
I'm not a big fan of Amazon and now, after these recent events, I am trying really hard not to be their customer.
Who needs this kind of thing?

(477 posts)Back in the day Amazon reviews were reliable.
Today, a majority of reviews are bot generated 5 star reviews.
5 star garbage.
Buyer beware. Some really bad products with 5 star reviews.

(12,213 posts)All the packages was for a townhouse complex next door (it has a locked gate, so the driver probably couldn't get in).
I contacted Amazon, and they said they would send someone over to pick them up. Several days later, nobody came.
Instead of keeping them or giving them away or throwing them out, I waited for the townhouse complex's gate to open, and went over to deliver them. I imagine by that time, they already got their packages from Amazon (as being lost). So they got two!

(5,586 posts)I work for an AWS competitor, and Amazon has driven up salaries across the entire Cloud Services industry. From engineers to salespeople, to Customer Service Managers, etc.
So while I don't work directly for Amazon, i've indirectly benefitted form their company pay practices.
