(23,123 posts)He had a life size poster of her in a mini dress and heels, singing and gesturing. It's what he looked at when his door was closed. He also named his beautiful powder blue convertible Mercedes Tina.

I remember seeing her on the Cher show many years ago, where they were doing a song and dance number together. Cher could not keep up with Tina at all! Her legs looked like toothpicks next to Tina's muscle.

Rock legend Tina Turner contemplated death as her kidneys failed but was given a new lease of life after her husband donated one of his own, the singer has revealed. The American music star, 78, who now lives in Switzerland, thought she was getting back to good health after beating intestinal cancer and a stroke when things took a turn.
In a serialisation of her autobiography in the Daily Mail, the What's Love Got To Do With It singer said her kidneys were at 20% and "plunging rapidly" by December 2016. She said she was so ill she was preparing for assisted suicide.
"I faced two choices: either regular dialysis or a kidney transplant," she said. "Only the transplant would give me a good chance of a near-normal life. But the chances of getting a donor kidney were remote." However, her husband - German music executive Erwin Bach - stepped in with Switzerland's donor rate remaining one of the lowest in Europe.
That remarkable loving gift enabled 5 more years for Tina. Amazing!

You think I dont know the law? Wasnt it me who wrote it? Tina Turner as Auntie Entity in Beyond Thunderdome
Whether you liked that film or not, I believe this line is just so indicative of a special performer that was both a goddess, and a total badass, all wrapped up in one package.
Yall may remember I talked about that soundtrack of our lives stuff after Gordon Lightfoot passed. Well, the same feeling applies here, along with lessons Tina taught us about survival and inner strength.
