Arizona GOP chair resigns, alleges pressure from Kari Lake team

The chair of the Arizona Republican Party announced he will resign Wednesday after leaked audio appeared to show him attempting to pay Senate candidate Kari Lake not to run for office in 2024.

Jeff DeWit said that the audio was “selectively edited.” He said he chose to resign because he was threatened by members of Kari Lake’s team that more tapes would be released if he did not step down.

Kari Lake is a fungus. If she didn't get the message that right wing nuts no longer win across Arizona during her last loss, then she'll get it again if she runs for Senate. And don't get me started on Sinema...

According to AZ GOP's August campaign financial disclosure filing with the Federal Elections Committee, the state party only has $14,813.45 in cash on hand. That amount is compared to the more than $764,000 the Arizona Democratic Party reported when it filed its financial disclosure report in July.Sep 15, 2023
