FBI concerned about possible coordinated attack in US after Russia massacre

Source: Reuters

The FBI is concerned about the possibility of an organized attack in the United States similar to the one that killed scores of people at a Russian concert hall last month, the bureau's director told a House of Representatives panel on Thursday.
...
The March 22 attack on a concert hall in a Moscow suburb killed at least 144 people, the deadliest in Russia in 20 years. A branch of the Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility, but Russian President Vladimir Putin, without citing evidence, has sought to blame Ukraine.

U.S. officials have been worried about the possibility of an attack carried out by an individual or small group inspired by the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
...
Of increasing concern "is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, akin to the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Russia Concert Hall just a couple weeks ago,” Wray told lawmakers in a shorter version of his written testimony.

I do question whether ISIS-K has the ability to carry out something like this, but plenty of homegrown groups that I worry about.

We do need to worry about an ISIS inspired attack here, MarineCombatEngineer Apr 11 #1
Well, we know that in either case, they will have absolutely no problem getting DemocraticPatriot Apr 11 #3

It's not exactly hard to get enough resources to carry out attacks. cstanleytech Apr 11 #7
The hardest part would probably be getting into the country. LudwigPastorius Apr 12 #8
I think it will happen. I hope that it won't but I also am realistic. twodogsbarking Apr 12 #9

but we also need to worry about our own home grown terrorists, IE, so called "militias".

but if they get in, they are more than happy to allow them to arm themselves with anything they can buy, no questions asked-- via the 'Gun Show loophole'.....

Hell, they are probably hoping for some terrorist mass shooting in this country enabled by their refusal to close that loophole...
then they can blame it on President Biden....

All it's going to take is a stadium and a belt fed machine gun. Or two or three.

I'm sure there's a sympathizer out there who will fly it in from the ME on their private jet.

Hell if I had the cash and was intent on causing the maximum amount of fear and terror i could buy a few drones and rig them with some sort of bombs and crash the into the crowds at a major event that's being broadcast on live TV.
That's another reason I'm not in favor of drone deliveries or self driving vehicles.
After all imagine the damage if a hacked tanker carrying something like gas or chlorine was driven into a grade school.

Once they're here, they can just about buy anything they need for mass murder. (notwithstanding certain chemicals and radioactive materials)

I must admit, though, I am much more afraid of MAGA-T than ISIS-K.
