Prosecutors will ask the judge to rule on whether Trump violated his gag order

Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass said the prosecution intends to ask the judge to decide if Donald Trump should be held in contempt for violating his gag order in the case.

In a series of social media posts over the weekend, Trump pushed the limits of the order, ranting about his former attorney Michael Cohen.

“Has disgraced attorney and felon Michael Cohen been prosecuted for LYING?” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Under the gag order, Trump is barred from making statements about possible witnesses in the case and their “potential participation” in the trial.
