Biden tells Democratic governors he needs more sleep and plans to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m.

President Joe Biden told Democratic governors during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday that part of his plan going forward is to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so that he can get more sleep, according to three sources briefed on his comments.
The remarks, first reported by The New York Times, came as the 81-year-old Biden sought to reassure a group of more than 20 state leaders about his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in November and govern effectively for another four years.
Bidens comment left several of the governors in the room frustrated, sources told CNN, and is one of the reasons that some of the participants have been rankled by the statement of loyalty and enthusiasm from them distributed by the Biden campaign on Thursday.
The White House did not immediately comment about what the president said. A Biden campaign aide argued that, as well as doing debate prep in the week after his two trips to Europe, Biden was engaged in hours of official work in addition to the hours of campaign work.

(5,722 posts)He is still capable. There is research that as one gets older, one's body clocks and circadian rhythms shift towards the daytime. A President should not be considered a superman or woman, but rather a wise person leading this country in a well-considered direction for a brighter future.

(4,743 posts)I am close to total disgust...Democrats doing Trump's job for him. Again. Still.
I haven't seen one genius calling for Biden to step aside to suggest either a viable alternative or how such a shitstorm would help or even work. Maybe it would shock Democrats into some kind of frenzied rally-around-the-mythical-replacement and a billion dollars would appear to fund the candidate. Or it would produce total chaos and leave Trump as the last man standing.

(54,881 posts)As disclosed to Democratic governors. I'm not sure what your non-sequitur about someone arguing for him to step down is, since that isn't referenced in this post.
I've seen this story replicated in multiple forms and in multiple outlets.

I call BS on three who werent there but who were briefed on his comments by who the hell knows who. Because that is what sounds like happened.
Lets not be so damn gullible when we read these articles.

(96,798 posts)better get a hell of a lot more aggressive, and become more visible, because a 30 minute interview with George Stephanopoulos isn't going to cut it.
When you have folks, according to reports I read here, having Carville publicly telling donors to stop donating to Democrats until President Biden steps down, they have to really put a stop to this, and privately call Carville on the carpet, then publicly block Carville from further Democratic events or meetings.
Carville is a loose cannon. I never trusted him, and his marriage with Matalin makes it even more precarious if he is privy to information regarding Democratic strategies.
If you have some evidence demonstrating Biden never made the comment, I'd like to see it.
Thanks!
