Mike Huckabee says removing God from schools is to blame for shooting

As the nation mourns and asks how could something like the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting happen, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has an idea: It's because God is absent from our schools. While speaking with Fox New's Neil Cavuto, Huckabee answered the question, "How could God let this happen?" by saying, "We've systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools have become a place for carnage because we've made it a place where we don't want to talk about eternity, life, responsibility, accountability?" Huckabee's words quickly made him a trending topic on Twitter, with some users applauding his comments, while others said his statement lacked empathy.

Meanwhile, the gun lobby accuses everyone else of "politicizing" the shooting.

The St. Pius X High School shooting was a school shooting that occurred on October 27, 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The gunman, Robert Poulin, an 18-year-old St. Pius student, opened fire on his classmates with a shotgun, killing one and wounding five before killing himself. Poulin had raped and stabbed 17-year old Kim Rabot to death prior to the incident. A book entitled Rape of a Normal Mind was written about the incident.

counts not one iota less than this one. Innocent HUMAN BEINGS were murdered. That's all that will count in the coming nationwide debate. Trayvon Martin was/is a victim of gun violence also. Counts not one iota less that the Sikh Temple murders or this one today. The gun madness must stop.

people like Huckshit wants to force people to pray to a God. I would be willing to bet that some people killed today had a personal God they prayed to. So God was in that school according to the hucksters criteria and other god is out of schools fools explaining why this happened. 
Xtian. or godtian. certainly not Christian. Not sure he knows who the savior was/is. The devil is at work here. The devil likely knows the Bible more than Mike does. 
I am not shocked by any of this. I am not surprised that so many were killed today. It is becoming the norm.
I am a gun-owner. I was taught by both my father and grandfather as a boy how to use and care for a gun. I hunted with them as I grew up.
When I hear grown men express their rage and helplessness by blaming others for not believing in their god, all I can feel is deeply saddened.
The rage and helplessness that welled up in me today brought me to tears. I allowed myself to cry. I called my sister and spoke to my nephew who is the age of some of these children. I left the NRA a few months ago but had remained on a few email lists. Today, I removed myself from those.
What a horribly tragic day.

As if any God worth his weight in spit would take some sort of jealous revenge on a room full of innocent children. How twisted and bizarro. I can't believe he was anywhere close to the presidency of the United States. It just shows how far off their rockers the right has gone.
And aside from the obvious....WTF.....can't these right-wing evangelicals instill their Christian values in their kids without depending on the government to do it for them in our public schools? Do their kids not know how to pray silently? Does their God abandon them if someone doesn't lead them out loud in prayer every few hours? 
Not enough god there for Fuckabee.
