This Man Helped Save Six Children, Is Now Getting Harassed For It

Source: Salon.com

“I don’t know what to do,” sighed Gene Rosen. “I’m getting hang up calls, I’m getting some calls, I’m getting emails with, not direct threats, but accusations that I’m lying, that I’m a crisis actor, ‘how much am I being paid?’” Someone posted a photo of his house online. There have been phony Google+ and YouTube accounts created in his name, messages on white supremacist message boards ridiculing the “emotional Jewish guy,” and dozens of blog posts and videos “exposing” him as a fraud. One email purporting to be a business inquiry taunted: “How are all those little students doing? You know, the ones that showed up at your house after the ‘shooting’. What is the going rate for getting involved in a gov’t sponsored hoax anyway?”

“The quantity of the material is overwhelming,” he said. So much so that a friend shields him from most of it by doing daily sweeps of the web so Rosen doesn’t have to. His wife is worried for their safety. He’s logged every email and every call, and consulted with a retired state police officer, who took the complaint seriously but said police probably can’t do anything at the moment, and he plans to do the same with the FBI.

What did Rosen do to deserve this? One month ago, he found six little children and a bus driver at the end of the driveway of his home in Newtown, Connecticut. “We can’t go back to school,” one little boy told Rosen. “Our teacher is dead.” He brought them inside and gave them food and juice and toys. He called their parents. He sat with them and listened to their shocked accounts of what had happened just down the street inside Sandy Hook Elementary, close enough that Rosen heard the gunshots.

Refusing to acknowledge that this atrocity even took place is to victimize the children, parents and townspeople of Sandy Hook--twice.

If they are trying to hide behind their 1st and 2nd Amendment 'rights', it is a fail. They have ventured into the area of gang stalking. Mr. Rosen's rights are being violated and the FBI can get involved.

The Newton police told him that there is nothing they can do, so the poor guy feels helpless, this is the goal of gang stalking.

How many have threatenened Obama's life and not been punished? How many have gone to disrupt town hall meetings, threatened the lives of representatives and their families who voted for the ACA, and are in jail?

Not enough. I suspect that those with more genteel feelings will leave the area. This man will never be at ease again, Infowars is the one who started this and named him as conspirator, and they are immune from prosecution. It's a form of stochastic terrorism, but in no case have the ones who egged people on been punished.

Not one, to my recollection. Because all Americans value their freedom of speech so highly that these guys are being allowed to do this nationally. At times it gets down to such things as the man in Arkansas whose GOP opponent in a local race put out his address on his radio program. He came home to find his children's pet cat beaten to death with the word LIBERAL painted on it in front of the door, so they'd see it as they came home from church.

Nameless thugs do these things, their only punishment is losing an internet account if caught threatening to kill. They're working on killing this man slowly, because they hate Obama and believe anything he is being accused of, Tucson, Aurora, Newton. All of it.

I see no solution to this at all if the local PD can't stop them from intimidating the man in a public place. We have a problem with domestic terrorism by people who would profit from it.

Seriously, this guy needs to know he is not the problem. He just needs to know that this is not an isolated incident and read the stories of others subjected to this kind of harassment. But right now, it doesn't seem that he has that kind of support. I was hoping that the FBI would have information for him to help himself. Hell, if I could get through to him, I could give him information to help himself.

It's when you go beyond speech, assembly, religion and petition into violence that people get hurt.

So don't condemn people who exercise their First Amendment rights. That is the essence of democracy, the necessary prerequisite for democracy.

Martin Luther King exercised his First Amendment rights, and thanks to that fact, our nation is on the road to offering equal opportunity that he could not have dreamed of.

The brownshirts are the ones who want no First or Second Amendment rights.

As a nation, we do have the right to defend ourselves against invasion and crime.

Any airline that goes down with a more-or-less famous person on board is not an accident. It's weird.

The Right Wing is TERRIFIED of people having ANY feelings.

It's like when they claimed Michael J. Fox was faking his tremors. Their tactic is to say, "It's all a trick" whenever there is an emotional event. Then you are supposed to get mad over the idea that you actually had an emotional reaction. You are supposed to be a cold, dead in the center, unfeeling asshole if you wish to remain in their exclusive club.

Further, you are to think the other side uses tactics you yourself would come up with and remember always that YOU are the victim of oppression.

I turned it over to the Sheboygan cops, and that was that, haven't had anything since.

There is a HUGE RW conspiracy theory that the Gov't planned the whole thing to take guns away. I have a buddy (former drummer in my band) who is CONVINCED that this is true. He's young (20 or 21), and seems to be easily persuaded, but the band he's in now is full of tinfoil hat wearing, Alex Jones watching fuckwits. And he can't be argued with. I told him that there's a conspiracy, alright. The conspiracy is pulled off by people like Alex Jones to bring us a completely misinformed populace that believes in the most absurd of explanations for the most clear-cut events.

I don't even care if this post is hidden. I will wear that hide with pride. Before you are thrown off DU (probably not for the first or last time) I want to tell you what I think of a person who would post vile, horrible things about the six year old victims of a massacre and their families for money. I think that you are the lowest form of life there is.

Go home and rethink your life.

If it's the same kid, why would the powerful government, who staged this, would have the same kid in a high profile photo, that will literally go every where...with POTUS?

I mean, makes zero sense to blow cover this way...

(Logic and how these things work are not the strong point of ct folks)

“The quantity of the material is overwhelming,” Rosen said, adding that he's sought the advice of a retired state police officer and plans to alert the FBI.

This is gang stalking and falls under domestic terrorism, it is under the jurisdiction of the FBI.

I see pictures of assault weapons posted on facebook with the usual NRA, "nobody's gonna get my guns" stupid mentality and wonder how anyone close to this tragedy feels about those pictures and posts and the pro gun fervor of the right wing.
I know this is wrong and a disgusting idea, but maybe we need to see actual photos of what these assault weapons do to a 6 year old child's body.
Most of the people screaming about their "2nd Amendment rights" are too mentally ill to possess any weapons of any kind. And, really, if you think that's over the top, fuck off!

But we mustn't forget the legions of kind, caring, decent, intellectually-acute and spiritually-astute people fighting to make the world a better place--one issue, one day--at a time. Good salt-of-the-earth people just like you!

Love your passion and outrage though. I share it.

what that kind of flesh-damage looks like and don't care, or they actively ignore such mental images in order to continue to assure themselves that it's their Right to have these weapons.

I would also guess that there's a fair number of these deranged individuals that enjoy seeing such images.

Some things do have to be shown to people before they allow their consciences to have a little time in their normally dulled hearts. It's shocking, but sometimes that's what it takes to get through to people.

just heard Hal Sparks relate how gun shows do not allow attendees to carry guns!!!! People are REQUIRED to check their guns at the door. They're intelligent enough to not trust each other.

The way the rightwing is dragging down the moral fabric of America i'd say another civil war or some breakup of the country may be in order for the future as these righties are becoming sicker by the day, i'm at the point now where i detest them, they're like a cancer on society.
Thanks for Democratic Undergound ,the rightie extremists seem to have infested most other forums..

If so, they can get them for that.

Also, if they are using the internet to directly attack him, bingo with the Feds being able to do something.

a pre determined shelter area, area homes, businesses, fire station or safe spots.

Having a class shelter in place, with just lock the doors or get in the class closet when a shooter is active firing in the school, I don't think is the best plan. This would add no additional cost at all and it would be safest for all, to move out away from the school grounds.

The man getting harrased, charge them with a harrassment crime.

when there's an attack on a man who can prove he gave shelter to children and their busdriver who knew he might be delivering children to empty homes since the parents would be streaming to the school to find their children.

He showed real strength, and organization in taking them in, calming them, and contacting their parents. He thought of OTHERS, unlike right-wingers.

The right-wing unfolds itself daily in providing new looks at unlimited spiritual disease, a bottomless pit of treachery, and unyielding ill will toward everyone.

Their belief they can operate anonymously, without threat of retaliation allows them to behave like hyper-stimulated predatory clowns. Unhitched, unhinged, pointless, frenzied assholes.

Pity their chldren. It will take generations before the ugly idiocy wears out.

Sometimes a tragedy is just a fucking tragedy. There's no hidden agenda here. Kids were killed by a lunatic with a gun.
