Vatican City, June 13 (IANS/AKI) Pope Francis has deplored the exploitation of children as domestic workers, calling it a form of slavery that is increasingly affecting poor countries and girls in particular.
"There are millions of children, mostly young girls, who are victims of this hidden form of exploitation that often involves sexual abuse, mistreatment, and discrimination. It is real slavery," the pontiff said.
Addressing a crowd of 60,000 people in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis urged "ever more effective measures to fight this true scourge".
He called it "a deplorable phenomenon constantly on the rise".

I can't think of anything more disgusting than someone who's bizarre beliefs plunge many millions into poverty, slavery and starvation and then pats himself on the back for all of the "charity" his church does.
What is the point of condemning something when you are part of the problem?
