Romney tells west Mich. businessmen he'll fight unions
BY MARISA SCHULTZ THE DETROIT NEWS 14 COMMENTS

Grand Rapids— In a tough fight for a Michigan primary win, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney returned Wednesday to the home of the American auto industry to pledge he'll take on union bosses and end "crony capitalism."

"I've taken on union bosses before," Romney said before hundreds at a furniture manufacturer. "I'm happy to take them on again."

Reiterating a theme from his Detroit News column this week, Romney continued his harsh words for President Barack Obama's bailout of the auto companies — which many Democrats and others believed saved Detroit's hallmark industry.

Calling it "crony capitalism," Romney said Obama took "hundreds of millions" in campaign contributions from labor bosses and repaid them by giving General Motors and Chrysler to the UAW.

Iacocca took the money, saved Chrysler, and repaid the loan AHEAD of schedule.

Even Reagan was too smart to let Chrysler go in the dumpster.

Such as:

American History 1976-2012
Carter - bad
Reagan - good, ... really, really good
Bush the Elder - good
Clinton - bad, very bad
Bush Jr. - good, 9/11 was Clinton's fault
Obama - bad, very bad ... and evil too!

working together to R&D a highly efficient engine that all of the auto manufs. could use (and engine spin-offs) thereby cutting redundant R&D by each company and the waste associated with that. The other manufs. wouldn't go along with it ... he was ahead of his time IMO.

The RW R spin machine churns 7x24 with negativity. It's getting so any good accomplishments in the country are bulldozed under by the RW R spin machine. So much of their crap is so illogical, it pales the imagination keeping up with them they are so unproductive and outrageous.

For some reason (and I think it's human nature) RW BS is more entertaining to believe and listen to than truth. Not too many MSM outfits blast good news, but the crap always gets top billing for greed and $$$.

"crony capitalism" - a term that was created to describe Mitt's class of predatory opportunists.

Man, this guy couldn't be more tone deaf. His pandering to the Right has lost him all the credibility he could have had with Independents and he's not making a dent with the voters who buy this conservative schtick...Santorum has that franchise all sewn up.

There are more union members than businessmen in MI. And unless something changes, they each get one vote. Do the math. You lose.

He tells a cheap, bastard business owner that he will fight Unions, i.e., the business owner wouldn't have to go up against Unions and negotiations for his workers. The workers can just get screwed like those in "Right to Work States" currently do.

On the other side of the curtain; he would tell a group of workers he wants to make sure the middle class is helped and that their taxes remain low and a whole bunch of other b.s.

I don't get how he's going full on anti-Union and anti-worker? Has he missed the Walker re-call or the Ohio blow-back for repeal of the anti-Union law the Republican controlled Gov's are receiving from the people? How in the world does he expect to win anything.. How could ha possibly win Michigan with this rhetoric.

What a ninny... A dangerous, lying, ninny who needs to keep his self-entitled, privileged a$$ far, far, far away from the White House. I hope that this prolonged primary season is giving America a real fine look at what the Republican Party really is...
