IRS interviews show no political bias, Democrats say

Source: CNN

In the latest salvo of a pitched political battle over Internal Revenue Service targeting, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee said Tuesday that interviews with 15 tax agency employees found no evidence of bias or White House manipulation alleged by Republicans.

"Despite an extremely aggressive investigation involving thousands of documents and more than a dozen interviews of IRS employees, the overwhelming evidence before the committee reveals no political motivation or White House involvement in this process," said the memo made public by Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, the panel's ranking Democrat.

The committee chaired by Republican Rep. Darrell Issa of California will hold another hearing on the IRS targeting on Thursday, continuing a probe that has bitterly divided its two party leaders.

Cummings accuses Issa of conducting a partisan witch hunt and making false accusations about the scandal first uncovered in May by an inspector general's report that detailed how the IRS targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status for extra scrutiny.

By now everyone in the country KNOWS the IRS singled out the Tea Party for harassment. Truth will never catch up--

Unless, of course, they can really make the Issa villain to the point that the media pick up that story & run with it. But somehow--maybe just because of "liberal" media bias--the Dems never seem to be able to put together a good scandal story to hang on the Pubbies, even when they have all the ingredients for on, as in the present instance.

The majority of Americans don't follow politics too closely. All they know is that the IRS targeted the Tea Party, at least that's what the networks told them. This will get little to no coverage and if you ask the average citizen, they will still say "Yes, the IRS targeted the Tea Party." The Republicans already accomplished what they sent out to do.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of this shit. How about these people investigate the matter themselves and REPORT the facts instead of playing this faux neutral, "she said, he said" bullshit game?
