Spitzer: Weiner shouldn’t be mayor

Source: Washington Post

After previously declining to cast judgment on Anthony Weiner’s foibles, Eliot Spitzer said Monday that Weiner should not be mayor of New York City.

During an interview with MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” Spitzer declined to say who he was going to vote for in the mayor’s race, which is up the ballot from his comptroller’s contest.

Eventually, Matthews asked him if he thought Weiner should not be mayor.

“That is correct,” Spitzer relented.

I don't care what his proclivities are. Has he ever used his position to gain favors or do anything unethical, yes or no?

If no, fuck it, I don't care who he wants to text or pic or even sleep with. I don't give a shit. That's between him and his wife, and no one else. Do not care.

Spitzer, on the other hand, his fucking JOB was to prosecute people breaking the law, while he himself was breaking the law. He should have the sense to keep his fucking mouth shut at least.

It's surprising how quickly everyone here conveniently forgets his righteous rant on the floor of the House against the Republicans in the House of Representatives who weren't going to pass the bill paying for health benefits for those firefighters who suffered from working in New York City in the weeks after the attacks in September 2001!!!

the voters will decide, one way or another. But everyone has the right to express an opinion on the subject. If person x doesn't like the idea of any politician being elected, he has the right to say that. Everyone will have their say.

stupid stuff either, except irt as a pattern if behavior, and an unwillingness or inability to learn from past mistakes.
And anyone that sends unsolicited dick pics to someone they aren't sleeping with is kind of creepy. He's a flasher in a park without the trenchcoat.

Fight for Weiner's and Spitzer's past achievements and for their stands on progressive issues. This will go away if Democrats UNITE around good progressive candidates instead of running like a bunch of pansies over what is clearly media drama.

Suddenly you all give a shit about the cheap manipulations of Chris Matthews? PUH-LEASE.

Weiner shouldn't be mayor.

Maybe he has reasons other than hypocritical ones to not back Weiner. Maybe Spitzer has reasons totally unrelated to Weiner's sexual sophomoric behavior.

should be impeached asap? hey republican media arm? how about old Newt witnessed getting BJ in car ? why does he still have a career with the republican party?

let's drag out the old aol chat rooms off server storage, link the isp to todays politicans and see what they chatted and the pics they linked.

should 'cons ask every politican to list every porn video they ever watched? wait until they say "none" then catch them in a lie with some college roommate statement?

This is one of the paths republicans have and will take, to continue to hold America hostage forever.

The hypocrisy of this guy!

He was a prosecutor. He aggressively prosecuted people for the very crime he committed! Arghhhh!

I actually agree that Weiner shouldn't be mayor, but the idea that Spitzer dares to stand in judgment is so infuriating. Maybe Weiner is a jackass, but Spitzer is worse.
