Police have alleged Rob Ford ‘crack’ video

Source: City News Toronto

A much-anticipated police affidavit detailing the relationship between Mayor Rob Ford and his friend Alexander Lisi took a backseat after Toronto police chief Bill Blair dropped a bombshell on Thursday, saying police have several videos in their possession, including what’s believed to be of Ford allegedly smoking crack cocaine.

Blair said that the video recovered – which is “consistent with video previously described by the media” – contains footage of Ford. But he wouldn’t provide specifics. The chief has viewed the video and said, “As a citizen of Toronto I’m disappointed. It’s an issue of significant public concern.”

The videos were recovered from hard drives seized during the police investigation in June dubbed Project Traveller. The information was turned over to police investigators who Blair says gathered enough evidence to charge Lisi with extortion on Thursday. He was expected to make a court appearance later in the day.

No further charges have been laid but police are still reviewing the evidence, Blair said.

is that it's taken the Senate scandal off the TV...Harper should be kissing Ford's ass right about now, lol.

You know Ford won't go down without a huge fight though. It'll be interesting to see what he does next. He won't go quietly. You are about to see the biggest shit storm ever.

He's getting his ass kicked over the Senate scandal regardless of Ford's antics. The convention this weekend will be sombre.

But I don't think they have enough to arrest him. I was so hoping for a perp walk starring Rob Ford.

Here's a thread I started with links to all the major outlets' coverages:

Another example of how different rules apply to different people, eh? The poor dark-skinned folks just got flash-banged and got their doors kicked in indiscriminately, and Rob Ford gets to keep his job as Mayor. Rich guy walks!

Toronto police are in possession of a tape of Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack and the guy still won't resign. Here, appearing in front of his office—done up as a haunted house for Halloween—he speaks with reporters: "I wish I could come out and defend myself. Unfortunately I can't, because it's before the courts. And that's all I can say right." Asked if he's going to resign, he says no: "I have no reason to resign." Well, there's the crack tape! But, sure, pal.
