Another Batch of Wall Street Villains Freed on Technicality
Source: Rolling Stone
After all, the most dangerous possible consequence of the extreme concentration of financial power that has taken place in the last few decades has always been the possibility that these giants might figure out ways to work together, to game the costs of things for the rest of us. That's what took place in this case, as these defendants (and many big banks which have already settled with the state for similar actions) were caught colluding to skim from the investment returns owed to all of us local taxpayers.

(29,381 posts)I used to come here and get wound up, taking extreme pleasure in what one says about the right wind...yadda yadda big-whoppie. Now, I come here to read just the news, and seldom bother to read what who says about who. THIS,is what is important... this effects us all, not the shit about "slamming" some right wing tool. THIS pisses me off, and no amount of verbal battling can diminish it's effects on me, you or anyone else in this fraud-based country which enriches and protects the worst offenders known to all.

(28,552 posts).... and this was obviously the game plan all along. the JD has been "investigating" this bullshit for 6 years. It could be done in 1. And their ridiculous assertion that these things are too complicated and hard to prove in a court of law - YEAH WELL HOW ABOUT TRYING THAT OUT?
Juries will convict these assholes in a NY minute given the chance, we all know FRAUD when we see it. They are not taking this stuff to trial because they know they will get convictions and they really don't want convictions.
