On anniversary of 9/11, other agencies were left in dark on Port Authority lane closures to GWB

In the days leading up to the 12th anniversary of 9/11 — the 2001 disaster made worse by first responders’ inability to communicate with one another — one of Governor Christie’s appointees to the Port Authority intentionally bottled up information about the traffic jam he was planning to create in Fort Lee.

New documents released Thursday show that Fort Lee police and officials were not the only ones kept in the dark about the Sept. 9-12 lane closures that created huge backups leading to the George Washington Bridge.

David Wildstein, now the former director of interstate capital projects, also kept information from going to Transcom, an organization composed of police departments and transportation agencies in the region that is charged with disseminating traffic conditions to improve “the mobility and safety of the traveling public.”

“Transcom was not notified,” the Port Authority said in response to an inquiry by U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller IV, chairman of the transportation committee. “Mr. Wildstein indicated at the time he issued his directive to change the toll plaza configuration that he would control the communication.”

2. this backup and the thousands of people it affected

goes to show how evil and out of control sociopaths can negatively affect our populace. And don't forget the one death that might have been prevented if cruel 'masters' weren't at the helm of N.J's. political machine. This story is total madness in it's implications of megalomania.

3. Immunity is up for grabs

One of the scumbags will end up getting it to snitch on others. Obviously, this is also a political exercise and if I were the decider, I'd give immunity to the one who can bring down Governor Soprano.

I doubt Wildstein can bring down Governor Pillsbury -- Bridget Ann Kelly is the only one who can and my guess is that she is the one who will get the immunity.

There is enough evidence to throw Wildstein in jail already -- no need to give him immunity. He may get a limited (transactional) immunity in that his statements before the assembly cannot used in his criminal trial but that's all he is likely to get.
