Mike Huckabee: Democrats Tell Women 'They Cannot Control Their Libido' Without The Government

Source: Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is so fed up with the anti-Republican "War on Women" narrative that he went on a rant Thursday, accusing Democrats of trying to convince women they need the government to help them "control their libidos."

"Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women," Huckabee told his audience at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting in downtown Washington. "That's not a war on them. It's a war for them. And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control, because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it."

Huckabee, a former preacher and 2008 Republican presidential candidate, was referring to the provision of the Affordable Care Act that requires most employers to cover the full range of contraception in their health insurance plans. Many Republicans argue that employers should be allowed to refuse to provide such coverage on moral grounds, and conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh called one women's health activist a "slut" for advocating for contraception coverage.

Huckabee told GOP leaders on Thursday that women are "outraged" when Democrats paint them as nothing but "victims of their gender."

Personally, I blame Bill Kristol.
Just yesterday, he was crowing that Huckabee was the GOP's great hope, and, seeing as how he's never right about anything, it's only natural that the Huckster would go out, say something stupid to offend half of voters and remind everyone what a vile, unelectable nutcase he is.

translation, if a woman enjoys sex, she is a slut/whore.

Good women only have sex to make babies, no contraception is needed. And even then, women never, ever enjoy it.

Is there any doubt that this social philosophy/religion was devised by men with tiny dicks?

These people never cease to amaze me.

I know you aren't very smart Huck but let me explain it to you.

1. Sex feels good. Since your God can do no wrong She created the orgasm and packed it with a pleasure punch! (Thanks for that). Now you may argue She did that so that we would hump like rabbits and make lots of babies. But if She is so smart she would have realized that eventually mankind would figure out that ejaculation combined with ovulation leads to pregnancy and some people may want to avoid the risk of a pregnancy every time they have an orgasm. If She didn't want people to do it unless they were going to make babies She would have turned off the pleasure spots when She knew they didn't want to have a baby.

2. Women enjoy sex and they should but sex seems to be a compulsive thing with men. Women certainly do initiate sex with a partner or this is by mutual agreement but it is often initiated by a man who cannot control his libido.

3. Because men don't like to wrap the whopper (because it is not as sexually stimulating) and they fear tying their tubes, it is left to women to prevent unwanted pregnancies. If the woman is married or partnered the decision to not have another child is usually by mutual agreement. But if she is single she is taking responsibility for herself to not get pregnant.

4. Since today only women can get pregnant and she can never count on her partner to agree to use a condom, she takes RESPONSIBILITY for not getting pregnant if she does not want a child or could not afford to care for the child.

5. Since men like to have sex with women and only women can get pregnant, it follows that as a society we should ensure that women have the means to prevent pregnancy. After all it is not only protecting women from pregnancy but also the men who get them pregnant from having to support the child.

As a gay man I guess I am spared all the drama because neither I nor my partner can get pregnant without Her help.

Remember when R. Limbaugh was on a rant against Sandra Fluke? Said she wanted free contraception pills so she could have more sex. Both of these idiots don't understand that the pill has nothing to do with how much sex a woman has.

But I say let them talk, more the crazies talk, the better it is for the Democrats.

The only reason to prescribe Viagra is to get an erection - which men consider a medical necessity for them. But that is a good thing, nothing to do with libido.

How is saying this respecting women? does he even understand that statement? Why doesn't he just say women using birth control are sluts and maybe witches!

49. Is it even POSSIBLE to come up with a more twisted and illogical 'argument'? I think not ...
Thu Jan 23, 2014, 07:19 PM
Jan 2014

I'll tell you who this 'argument' appeals to: Right-Wing women who fear/dislike sex ... and perhaps right-wing males with deep seated sexual issues ... and that's about it. The one's who don't WANT anyone's birth control paid for because they have no need for it themselves. For the women, it's probably because they are either post-menopause, or they want their disgusting right-wing husbands to stay off of them anyway. And for the men, it's because the women who use BC don't want anything to do w/having sex with them.

The tone-deafness of idiots like Huckabee could not possibly be more pronounced and obvious. They continue speaking to the 'base', the people who'd already vote for them, (apparently) completely oblivious to the fact that they're just disgusting to everyone else.

All I have to say is ... keep it up, morons. Keep it up, cause you're just gonna keep losing with this angle ...

I'm married. Me and my wife don't want children. We enjoy sex. She needs birth control anyway because of problems with her cycle and cysts. But even if that weren't the case, we like to have monogamous unprotected sex as a faithful married couple. So fuck him. That's human nature and providing easy access to birth control is part of enabling that human nature in the most choice favoring way possible... oh and by the way, it reduces unnecessary abortions significantly, something he should be happy about.
