Police: Maryland mall attacker identified

Source: CNN

The gunman in the killings of two workers Saturday at a Maryland mall has been identified as Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, Howard County Police Chief Bill McMahon said Sunday.

A gunman carrying "a large amount of ammunition" and apparent makeshift explosives killed two workers at a busy Columbia, Maryland, mall before turning a shotgun on himself, police said.

The shooting, which also left five others injured, ended a violent week which saw shootings or gun scares at American schools or shopping centers -- ordinary places where people once felt safe.

That was some time ago... I now seek out the open style shopping corridors, even if weather is a problem. Bonus is one can take the dog (window shopping only, or with a friend along to mind)...

and it will only get worse. It's really not a good idea for EVERYONE to own a gun, but, can't go against American freedumbs.

How can we really be free unless every American owns a gun? It's our right, after all, and if someone is unstable and kills a few innocent people, that's just the collateral damage of everyone exercising their second amendment right. And, by the way, fuck you and your right to shop in peace. The second amendment trumps your right to live.

And this is not GD, so I assume we are allowed to rant against the insanity of the gun culture in America.

What America is awash in is guns, ammo and very angry, mentally unbalanced people. What America has very little of, if any, is jobs for people who want to work and maintain their self-respect, or professional help and outreach for people who are nearing the breaking point. These two "trends" are heading in opposite directions -- more guns/ammo flooding into the populace -- more people losing jobs along with self-respect and facing total disconnect from society. So, it is only going to get worse -- much worse.
