Tsarnaev allegedly made statement ‘to his detriment’ in visit with sister
Source: Boston Globe
During a prison visit with his sister, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the accused Boston Marathon bomber, made a damaging statement that was overheard by an FBI agent, federal prosecutors said today in a court filing.
The filing said that Tsarnaev, despite the presence of the agent, who was legally allowed in the room, was unable to temper his remarks and made a statement to his detriment which was overheard by the agent.
The filing did not say what the statement was.
The filing was made as part of an ongoing battle between the prosecution and defense over special administrative measures, special prison restrictions, that have been imposed on Tsarnaev.

Apparently Ibragim Todashev, the dead man, was a pretty iffy character and may have well been involved in three murders with the dead Boston bomber a year before the bombing. But since the police in the town where the murders took place dropped the ball on their investigation and the FBI did some pretty strange things in their pursuit of this man, we will never know the truth.
The article is very interesting and brings up many more questions than have been answered in this specific line of inquiry.

Me, personally; if I'm the trigger man for an unsolved triple homicide, the *last* thing I want to do is have multiple conversations with the FBI without an attorney present...

Todashev is connected to the victims, and placed himself at the scene of an extremely brutal slaying that could not have been to work of 1 man. The investigation reports two men going into the apartment.
I'm a criminal defense attorney.... People talk to the police all the time. Why? because some criminals think they're smart enough to talk their way out of charges. A good investigator is going to give you the opportunity to 'clear' yourself. you'd be surprised how many people take them up on that chance.

violent and brutal, most likely planned in advance with the victims unaware of the danger.IIRC, there wasn't a forced entry, they let them in. Which I think is a particularly grievous thing to do, talk someone into letting you inside and killing them.
JMHO.

And people are really surprised that he got upset?
That triple murder was a pre-planned hate crime.

(10,575 posts)The video clearly puts 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at the scene of the attack, Patrick said on NBC.
It does seem to be pretty clear that this suspect took the backpack off, put it down, did not react when the first explosion went off and then moved away from the backpack in time for the second explosion, Patrick said. Its pretty clear about his involvement and pretty chilling, frankly.
He added, however, that he hasnt viewed all the tapes but had been briefed by law enforcement about them.
