Alan Grayson Won't Be Arrested After Domestic Incident

The Orange County, Fla. Sheriff's Office said Friday that Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) will not be arrested in connection to his estranged wife's accusations of domestic violence, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

Earlier this week, a Florida judge granted Grayson's wife, Lolita Carson-Grayson, custody of the couple's children, and barred contact by her husband, following an incident where Carson-Grayson said her husband pushed her against a door. Grayson has since repeatedly denied striking his wife, and his lawyers on Wednesday released a video of the incident that they said proved that Carson-Grayson had been the one who committed a physical attack outside the couple's Orlando home on Saturday.

According to the Sentinel, the sheriff's office interviewed Grayson, Carson-Grayson, and others before determining that there was not enough evidence to arrest the congressman. Nevertheless, the Sentinel reported, Grayson was served with a domestic violence injunction on Friday.

Carson-Grayson recently filed for divorce from Grayson. The couple has been married for more than two decades.

I truly feel sorry for Alan Grayson. I truly know what he is going through as i was married to one just like her. Lots of yelling, lots of arguing, violence and all that fun stuff.

She thought i was cheating on her when i had to take a job out of town to pay the bills due to the economy crash. Very laughable considering i was working a side job logging 70 or more hours a week. Sleep was a luxury, money for some odd reason was not.

Divorce was the best solution to the worst mistake i had ever made in my life. Reconnected with my high school sweetheart and got married. I never knew how good life could be!

It doesn't exclude the possibility that he pushed her at some time not covered in that video.

16. What we do know is that it was his aide who had the foresight to film or was very quick to realize

that he should start filming when she started reacting in a volatile manner.

It does seem that there is a lot going on here and he had reason to think his ex-wife (or soon to be ex-wife) could react negatively to his presence.

There can be no excuse for HER action - no matter what happened before the filming (or when the filming was on the van). However, I suspect that it is possible that the reason there is no sound is that Grayson might well have said things that angered her. I think we all know people who have used words to provoke someone to react in ways that are not in their interest. ( Note - I do not think that is justification for her hitting him. )
