BRUSSELS, March 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Belgian police evacuates people in Brussels downtown after it was reported that a bomb was found in a bus on the same day when US President Barack Obama arrived in the country. RTBF channel reported this on Wednesday.
The police evacuated passengers of the bus in Brussels downtown after a suspicious package was found; the traffic at the site of the incident is blocked, the TV channel reported. Bomb technicians are expected to arrive.
The incident occurred amid unprecedented security measures regarding the start of the official visit of US President Barack Obama to Belgium. Obama has arrived overnight to Wednesday. However, he is not in Brussels now: the US president is on a trip to the Flemish town of Waregem, where in the nearest time will take place a solemn ceremony at a military cemetery near the graves of US soldiers that were killed in World War I (1914-1918).
