Pakistan wants to Smoke Peace Pipe with India, Invites Modi to Visit Country
Source: deccan chronicle
As India awaits the Narendra Modi-led BJP government to take charge, Pakistan on Monday hoped for an early resumption of peace dialogue between the two countries and that the two sides would work to resolve their differences and disputes.
Pakistan high commissioner in India Abdul Basit said that as neighbours, the two countries have no option but to talk to each other and normalise relations.
Basit said the two democracies have to decide whether we will bury the hatchet or will continue to be at daggers drawn indefinitely. He also added, The two countries and its people cannot afford to move in the wrong direction and be on the wrong side of history.
Seeking to engage with a Narendra Modi-led government, the Pakistan government is also hopeful that Mr Modi will be able to make an early visit to Pakistan and have already extended an invitation to him.

By Richard Nordquist
Question: What Are Mixed Metaphors?
Answer: As defined in our glossary, a mixed metaphor is a succession of incongruous or ludicrous comparisons. When two or more metaphors (or cliches) are jumbled together, often illogically, we say that these comparisons are "mixed."

It is time someone puts an end to rhe Pakistani swamp of terrorism.
If Pakistan gets over Kashmir, its citizens could benefit immensely from bilateral trade and Indian investments.

(90,061 posts)NEW DELHI - India on Wednesday invited the leaders of rival Pakistan and other South Asian nations to the prime minister's inauguration, signalling what could be a first step in improving ties with its neighbours.
Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh on Wednesday sent the invitations to her counterparts in the eight-member South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation for the leaders to attend the inaugural scheduled on Monday.
It's the first time India has invited leaders from its neighbours to attend the ceremony. External affairs ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said the ministry was awaiting responses.
The decision, among the first taken by Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi, could signal an intent to improve ties with Pakistan.
