Brown: Employers Should Be Able to Deny NH Women Basic Health Coverage

Source: NH Labor News

Concord — After days of public pressure, former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown told New Hampshire women he supports the recent Supreme Court decision that would allow employers, not doctors, to decide what contraceptive health care they’ll cover for their female employees.

On WKXL radio, Brown said “I’ve supported in the past and will continue to support” the court’s ‘Hobby Lobby’ ruling, adding “even though that may be out-of-touch with social opinion.”

“Scott Brown knows that he is out of touch with New Hampshire women, that is why he tried to hide his radical position from them for 48 hours,” said Shaheen Campaign Communications Director Harrell Kirstein. “Believing that women’s health care decisions should be made between her and her doctor – not her employer – is not ‘social opinion,’ it is a deeply held New Hampshire value that Brown clearly does not understand. It is insulting that Scott Brown would be so dismissive of women’s right to basic contraceptive coverage as if it was a passing trend.”

...and that is the sheer STUPIDITY of the right-wing politicians who are not only NOT trying to distance themselves from this horrible affront to true justice, at least to 'appear' to support women's rights for their own political gain, but are, indeed, DOUBLING DOWN on the farcical 'logic' of this ruling supporting anything akin to some kind of 'freedom of religion', or 'freedom of speech', or whateverthehell this abomination could possibly represent!

The mind boggles.

Glad you're here! TOTAL dickhead. I remember when he inadvertently pimped out his daughters when he won that election that martha coakley almost literally handed to him with her own arrogance and presumption. Thought campaign season was a great time to take a vacation. Didn't think she had to work for it. Underestimated the enemy egregiously and unforgivably - because this one, the late Ted Kennedy's seat, actually should have been in the bag to stay Democratic!

It of course eventually paved the way for Senator Elizabeth Warren to rescue it and return it to the blue column. But I have a feeling she would have wound up a Massachusetts Senator anyway. 'Cause after that election, John Kerry moved to the State Department.

Still, the very idea that a Senate seat in Massachusetts held by a senior Kennedy for so long and so well, with a legacy like his, would fall into enemy hands, even for less than one full term, I felt was a truly galling and outrageous thing to see. Heresy! Blasphemy! Sheer apostasy!

You are such a kind and generous woman.

As for Coakley, you are so right. She ran a crap campaign and was AWOL for most of it. I am happy to know that she has learned an extremely critical lesson from that. She is running for Governor of Mass.

Good to have you with us! I am, too. I'm amazed that anybody can support a ding-dong like this. He's a walking, talking definition of the notion that beauty is only skin deep. Some find him quite handsome. And I suppose strictly on the surface he could be considered as such. But I find him unsightly, mainly because his ideas are ugly, and the agenda he fully supports and would vote to extend and enhance is flat-out hideous.

There are people who think sarah palin is hot-looking, too. But all I see are ugly ideas and ugly attitudes and an EXTREMELY ugly agenda.

If he is a moderate please explain the difference to the myriad of radical Republicans who are sucking the life out of this country. There should differing opinions among political parties but this is total nonsense. A rotten disease infects the Republican Party there are no moderates. The disdain they display for the poor, middle class, immigrants, women, disabled, veterans, children, unemployed, elderly, racial minorities (soon to be majorities) etc. is staggering.

I wrote a piece on this on another site and will post when I get the chance.

New Hampshire would be nuts to vote him in...if they did, they should just move the entire state into Alabama or another
one of those states that vote to hurt themselves.....I almost can't stand it any more...
