Ariz. Conservatives Plan To Link Arms To Block Bus Full of Kids

Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

ASTRID GALVAN – JULY 15, 2014, 9:19 AM EDT

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Protesters in a small town near Tucson want to send a message about the immigration debate Tuesday, when they plan to block a bus they believe will be transporting about 40 immigrant children to an academy for troubled youths in Oracle, Arizona.

The protests will mirror those in Murrieta, California, which gained national attention this month when the city's mayor and residents blocked buses carrying immigrant children who were going to be processed there.

In Oracle, anger has been spreading since Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu warned residents last week that immigrant children from Central America caught crossing the border illegally into the U.S. would be placed at the Sycamore Canyon Academy in Oracle. The academy houses troubled youth, many of whom have been through the criminal justice system.

Calls to the academy were not returned. A spokesman for the federal Department of Health and Human Services said the agency could not identify the locations of shelters for migrants in order to protect their identities and security.

They should have to give their "1st Amendment" argument to the Federal Marshals

Of course, I live in Wisconsin, where hundreds of people have been arrested and handcuffed for singing or holding signs in the State Capitol. Imagine if the Solidarity Singalong had surrounded a Capitol Police or other official vehicle. They WOULD have shot us!

Repeat that about 3 times and then open fire. As soon as you start shooting them with rubber bullets and using tear gas they will disperse.

In the Republican primaries I was shocked and appalled when the audience cheered for the death and suffering of sick people who had no healthcare, then they clapped for even more state executions, and even booed a soldier in a war zone just because he happened to be gay.

That glimpse into the dark psyche of what passes for the Republican creed was surreal and terrifying. These people are extremists and radicals, they are the front for insurgent rightwing terrorism, but they are not Americans. I worrying that there will be no escape if the Senate falls into the hands of these anarchists.

Now they are back again with a new and improved vision of Republican philosophy; proudly screaming their invective filled, racist hate at helpless children. This is the modern day version of ancient Rome or some horrifying dystopian future ruled by whims of people just like this... or worse.

That frightens me. That future shock on display at the GOP primary was not just a one-off or a freakish outlier... it really is today's reality for an America governed by the Republican Party.

there exists a list of terms that are verboden here on DU for PC reason. Things that I would normally use daily to describe knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, gay bashing, immigrant hating individuals. You know.... republicans.

to put it another way:

why is "c@ck sucker" used as an insult? why is it considered a bad thing to be someone who "sucks c@ck?"

the answer is pretty clear if you think about it.

Silent... passive... resistance. You know, like Ghandi and MLK did. Let them know that there are just as many of us (or more) as there are of them.

I mean it's great that they hold signs and show welcome, however think of the confusion in a kids mind when a gringo yells that they are going to be shot when they cross over into our country. Let them see that there are those here that want to protect them.

I guess I am a bit too militant......my honest instinct is to beat the ever loving shite out of the ass holes with the guns. But hey, that's just me.

Just send a nice Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent with a loud but pleasant voice to the protesters and have her read the following to them:

"The passengers in these buses are being processed for deportation. If you detain a bus we will have no choice but to drive it to the nearest federal courthouse and immediately swear the passengers in as citizens of the United States, then give them welfare, free houses, food stamp cards and Obamacare."

Those protesters will flee so fast it'll take a week for the dust cloud to dissipate.

Heroically Defending the Exceptionally Exceptional U.S. of A! from the latest Apocalyptic Threat of Invasion...which is in fact a bunch of kids.

Seriously, where do the righties get their overblown sense of Danger!? Or their putrid tendency toward self-aggrandizement? Everything about their reaction to real life is Writ Large...nevermind, I've pretty much answered my own question. They live in Fear.

Isn't what they want is for the refugees to be deported? Isn't that what the detention center is for, to process them to ready for deportation? So why are they stopping the process that they want?

I'm positive someone is hiring them to do this.
