It only takes 150 signatures to get the petition to come up in search engine searches; however, Go Left America is hoping to gain the 100,000 signatures in 30 days needed in order to get President Obama to act on the petition. The deadline for the 100k signatures is Jan. 26, 2015.

If journalistic integrity means anything to you, be sure to stop by and sign and share the petition, yourself.

The increase of intolerance & fanned hatred. Theirs is a corporate agenda. This article relates to how faux tampered with video to defame peaceful protests. Another example of divide - black vs white.

2. And Where Is The Democrat
Mon Dec 29, 2014, 03:52 AM
Dec 2014

That has the balls to take on Fox Lies?

All it takes is one politician to make a list of the lies mouthed on Fox, and go on some other network, and read, and read, and read, and let Hannity, and the rest babble their drool in outrage. Let the Fox Lies hosts show their outrage that someone is calling them out on their lies with undeniable facts. They lie and they know it. Let them deal with it.

I actually watched Hannity tell his viewers we found WMD's in Iraq. Now that is sick. Even Bush said we didn't.

The only reason we have Republicans is because Democrat politicians are such pathetic pussies.

BTW where is the Democrat with enough balls to tell the world Republicans can't be Christians if every single thing they do is 100% the opposite of what Christ taught.

Heal the sick. No way. Feed the hungry? Cut food stamps, and school lunches. Starve the least among us. The list goes on. Republicans OBVIOUSLY Serve Satan.

Now where is Dem with the balls to tell the truth?????

I won't hold my breath.

I do not see a call for investigations by government....which government does all the time in a variety of roles anyway

The media reporting solemnly that a gentle summer rain is going to be a Class 5 hurricane without bothering to look out the window should have some consequences.

See Fox v Monsanto, a court ruled that Fox reporters were justified in being terminated by a Florida Fox affiliate because they refused to go on air and read a doctored (false) report that said reporters knew was not true. Does not this court case give Fox, or any other news network, the license to lie?

accountability is mandatory. If the lie is negligent or mendacious and may cause harm or did cause harm it must have immediate consequence.

A court can say one thing, the law can say another and change that thing.

The petition onky calls for folks to be informed when media is using a lie they have a right to use, we have the right to know. Immediately.

Because information is a vital commodity it has to meet minimum standards, duh,

"The Press is an industry the Founding Fathers wished to protect. Journalism is necessary to democracy. That means a Free Press. It also means journalistic integrity. Case No. 2D01-529 is interpreted to give news the right to lie. We need a law to clarify this and protect information consumers."

Why are all these sites "interconnected":

Go Left
Samuel Warde
If You Only News
Addicting Info
Reverb Press
Everlasting GOP Stoppers

And not joke at all, what the local Fox News Affiliate did was wrong by "editing" the clip to their favor however, is this something that the White House can fix?

First, Fox News has defined themselves as "entertainment" and not "News" (yes, we know news is in their title but everyone with a brain know that they are not in any way news).

Second, so Democrats are in the World now of limiting Free Speech. Even Free Speech we don't agree with. Isn't that action in itself, Republican like?

Third, why is this petition popping up on DU....and all over Facebook, and Twitter, and Reddit and wherever else in Social Media. Who is behind this and better yet, who are behind all of these sites?

These are valid questions that need detailed answers before placing one's name on any petition.

In the best known case involving Fox "lies" as a matter of doing business, the courts have ruled that the FCC rules on "lying" in essence cannot be enforced without infringing free speech. In other words if anybody is working for a public broadcasting organization and if that person is told to "lie" and both parties know it's a lie, the person can be fired for disobeying that order to lie without any consequences to the organization and almost without any regard for the consequences to the whistleblower.

This is where the US is at now after the Fairness Doctrine was eliminated under Clinton. IMO this was one of the worst things that happened during the Clinton administration.

When "honesty" is a law, the government decides what is truth.

I am astonished and dismayed that so many people are buying into this nonsense. A vote for this petition is nothing more than a vote for the Thought Police.

News agencies shouldn't lie. The government should have nothing, not one iota of influence to say about it though. That is the business of the people to fix.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

A law such as what this OP is proposing is vile, and would put everyone, including anyone who posts on Democratic Underground, at risk of prosecution.

Fuck your strawman. And fuck your slippery slope. There is no going back with something like this.

So this petition is a rovian three dimensional chess plant designed to spread the word about protesters calling for murdering policeman?

And if you sign this specific whitehouse.gov, you're a useful idiot promoting this BIG LIE that protesters advocate for murdering policemen? While you think you're practicing good citizenship trying to do something to curb MSM's habit of not providing journalism, but instead AGENDA DRIVEN CORPORATE PROPAGANDA?

I strive to be an informed critical thinker, but this entire disinformation effort apparently by our Oligarchs is hard to stay ahead of.

So just what's the deal with these interconnected websites? Are they designed to trick progressive activists into doing things they think are progressive, but end up supporting the efforts of the Oligarchs to turn America into an authoritarian fascist police state?

Ironic that our country has become what we fought the Revolutionary War to get away from, isn't it? Man's inhumanity to man is a fixed component of the human condition, apparently. I thought humanity was better than that. I thought we were trying to build a more perfect union, not a corporate plantation with the bottom 99% living lives of dull grey economic servitude chained into legalized slavery?

ONE MORE POINT

This needs to be fleshed out and fact checked, but, did not the cop killer come from Baltimore? Is it not conceivable, then, that he watched this misleadingly edited news piece and made up his mind that he should go out and kill some cops? Did Fox' reporting drive this guy to murder? And if so, doesn't this clearly illustrate the danger to society when we have fictional news designed to divide us and make us hate each other? Isn't what the Fox affiliate did a close equivalent to shouting FIRE in a crowded theater?

Where does the email address go for folks that "sign" this petition launched by a group of interconnected "Progressive" websites that have yet to be honest and say they are interconnected with the wider community. Who is collecting this data? Why are they collecting it? What is the purpose?

Finally, hasn't the affiliate station apologized for the "faux" editing? Not to say that the faux editing should NOT HAVE BEEN DONE in the first place but what else can they do beside fire the editors that performed the "faux" editing.

How about a call for that ---- for the Producer or Editor of the "faux" video to be terminated?

Either way, I have yet to see where the White House should be involved here. Someone noted earlier the Fair Use Act. Ummm as a quasi Independent Media organization, the Fair Use Act was weaken during the Reagan Administration allowing companies that do "Entertainment News" like Faux News to exist. In other words, about 20+ years too late to save what was the Fair Use Act.....just saying.

So this petition has no point and those who sign it are sorry to say, a part of our blind non-critical thinking society that leads to companies in the business of "Entertainment News" like Faux News to exist.

Happy Monday.....
