Hacker Group Anonymous Declares War On Jihadists To Avenge Paris Attacks
Source: London Express
A NETWORK of hackers has released a video condemning the terrorist attacks in Paris and declaring war on jihadists. Hacker group Anonymous released the clip through its account, labelling it "a message for al-Qaeda, the Islamic State and other terrorists".
A figure appears on camera wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and a hooded robe. The figure, whose voice is warped, says: "We are declaring war against you, the terrorists." The video promises to find and shut down all social media accounts related to terrorists to avenge those killed in recent attacks.
The group also released an online statement in which they offered their condolences to "the families of the victims of this cowardly and despicable act". It added: "Freedom of expression has suffered inhuman assault ... and it is our duty to react". Anonymous is an international network of hacker groups who characterise themselves as "hacktivists", defending freedom and democracy.
Groups aligning themselves with Anonymous have carried out hacks on government departments of several countries, organisations including the Church of Scientology and Westboro Baptist Church, as well as corporations such as PayPal, Mastercard and Sony.
