Applicant teachers now to be assessed on the values of the French Republic

Source: Le Figaro

Minister of Education, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, will detail several measures concerning education early Thursday afternoon, regarded by the government as an essential bulwark in the fight against religious fundamentalism after the attacks that hit France in early January.

The arsenal of planned measures: 1000 teachers are to be specially trained in secularism by July 2015; secular teaching about religion is to be added to school curriculums; candidate teachers are to be evaluated on knowledge of the values of the Republic and their mastery of French secularism; secular rules and politeness are to be encouraged.

True 'Separation of Church and State'? Ask the experts.

The French didn't throw off the oppressive yoke of a state established religion for nothing!

Secularism is the sine qua non of the French Republic.

religious wars. That's plural. Never again.

Religion is not something to kill for. It just isn't. Religion is meaningless when it incites or justifies killing. That is because religion is in part about establishing a foundation for personal and social morality. And killing is not moral.

Thou shalt not kill is an essential commandment and should be applied to all regardless of religion. That is why we should not allow religion to determine our laws. Because all religions would favor laws that make it illegal to believe in any religion other than themselves, and that leads to conflict between religions and wars and killing.

Religions should not have armies. Religion is a matter of personal belief, not a matter for government.

Look at ISIS. That is where religion mixed with government leads.
