Is Hillary Clinton fading in 2016? Sort of.

Washington Post: Is Hillary Clinton fading in 2016? Sort of.

"We have, at long last, reached the point in the 2016 cycle (what year is it, again?) in which we can start comparing apple-to-apples. Which is to say: We're starting to get good polls from reputable pollsters that allow us to track patterns over time.

Quinnipiac University put out a new poll Thursday that tracks Hillary Clinton's performance against the panoply of possible Republican challengers in three states: Colorado, Iowa, and Virginia. The nice thing is that they polled in the same states two months ago, so we can see what's changed.

In short: Clinton's lead against any or all of the tested Republicans has dropped in Colorado and Iowa and increased in Virginia.

...

That's made more evident when we look at favorability ratings for Clinton in the two polls. In Colorado and Iowa, her unfavorables spiked -- meaning that people were increasingly likely to view her unfavorably and decreasingly likely to view her favorably. In Virginia, they were relatively flat."

and Bernie Sanders is IT.

He gets it. He gets the messaging that America needs, and will be announcing his switch and candidacy shortly!

Their senate match ups in those states were a bit off.

Come Election Day, it's going to be 48-48 with the same "undecided" 4% deciding it as usual, no matter who gets nominated.

She's got a 50-50 chance against Bush or Walker and probably a 60-40 chance against a Rand Paul or Ted Cruz lunatic candidate.

it is still way way way too early for any poll to mean much. Jeb has not stated whether he will run, and the real picture will not become clear till he does. Not saying he will be the frontrunner, especially if Scott Walker gets anointed with gold from the Koch brothers, but since neither Jeb nor Walker have said "I am the GOP Guy", people are not really thinking about "Hillary versus a rival" yet. Until there is a serious "Coke vs. Pepsi" challenge, where Hillary and whoever the major GOP candidate is, people will not think in terms of a real conflict.

One real thing is that Paul is showing well. IMHO, what that reflects is the fact that some people who hate the GOP but also hate Hillary want to say something, since there is no opposing Democratic candidate to make Hillary feel any sort of pressure to say anything. Colorado is the state that did well with Cannabis, something Paul was very vocal about. Since there is no Dem to say "I would legalize it" those who want to legalize it will find an outlet, thus Paul. Iowa could be different, but they could simply be tired of Hillary at this point, but they may decide they would rather have her than a Jeb or Walker.
