Donald Trump’s political triumph makes it official — we’re a nation of idiots
I hate to have to say it, but the conclusion stares us in the face: Were a stupid country, full of loud, illiterate and credulous people. Trump has marched straight to the nomination without offering anything like a platform or a plan. With a vocabulary of roughly a dozen words wall, Mexicans, low-energy, loser, Muslims, stupid, China, negotiate, deals, America, great, again hes bamboozled millions of Americans. And its not just splenetic conservatives supporting Trump or your garden-variety bigots (although thats the center of his coalition), its also independents, pro-choice Republicans, and a subset of Reagan Democrats. This says something profoundly uncomfortable about our country and our process. A majority of Americans appear wholly uninterested in the actual business of government; they dont understand it and dont want to. They have vague feelings about undefined issues and they surrender their votes on emotional grounds to whoever approximates their rage. This has always been true to some extent, but Trump is a rubicon-crossing moment for the nation.

(29,205 posts)and build that HUUUUGE wall around the confederacy.
Right after we do some sort of land/house swap so that every POC and liberal or pretty much any sane person now living in the south can move out (plus we get to isolate all of the crazy teapublicans by inviting them to go live in their utopia).
(not a real plan for any DUer who currently lives in the south and doesn't want to move)
I think Trump has the new "White House" already built in Florida.

(29,205 posts)Formerly the Marjorie Merriweather Post estate in Palm Beach, Florida. She built the house with her (then) husband, Edward F. Hutton. The house was designed by Joseph Urban. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1980. The 118-room, 110,000 sq ft estate is owned by Donald Trump who holds 51% ownership and ex-wife Ivana Trump who holds 49% ownership. The house itself is 62,000 sq ft.
