The Clock is Ticking... And This May All Go Down Faster Than We Think.
Born To Run The Numbers on the implications of the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Prosecutor.
http://www.borntorunthenumbers.com/2017/05/the-clock-just-started-and-this-may-all.html Excerpt: "Why might this unfold at heretofore unheard of speed? The answer lies in the reality that the impeachment and conviction of a president is one part legal, one part shamelessly political, and one part purely personal. The outcome will involve as many off-camera human judgments, opinions, and political calculations as it will smoking gun evidence and courtroom drama. But the most important point is this: once it is clear to Republicans in contested districts and states that an impeachable offense has been committed and perceive Donald Trump to be radioactive waste, it will be in the interest of all parties – even Donald Trump – to get this all behind us. Fast."

1. Impeaching this orange atrocity with GOPr majorities in both the House and Senate is folly
We need to win them back, take our time and do this right.

2. No!
Get him out of there! Nothing will be gained from keeping him in office.

3. GOPrs aren't going to vote against him, no matter what he's done
We need to take care of these fuckers first.

6. You're giving them too much credit
GOPr congresscritters are going to hold on to him, no matter what. They can't be trusted to initiate impeachment proceedings in the House or to vote against him in the Senate.

5. I agree. THEY MUST lose faith in him first. If we just impeach,
they will blame us for taking out the president they elected and rally with President Pence, Ryan, McConnell, the Kochs et al, etc. against us.
What we gain by taking down rump is potentially more physical safety. What we lose is a president who is a tremendous liability to the right, and especially an erratic, unpredictable hindrance to their plans. Btw, notice that we failed to take out Steve Bannon. So far. Rump was angry at the coverage Bannon was getting, but Bannon was just moved back out of the spotlight. He is still right by rump, whispering in his ear. He even went to Saudi Arabia with rump, unquestionably a sign of favor, before flying back to continue his work here of destroying our government while rump is gone. |
