Robert Parry RIP: A Reporter outcast in his own land.

'Bob Parry has died. He was a giant… The reporter who uncovered the Iran-Contra scandal. Instead of a Pulitzer, he was fired by the AP.

Then fired by Bloomberg and Newsweek for more reports.

And, 30 years ago, he convinced me to take on two unknown and dangerous brothers: the Kochs. He exposed them in Nation Magazine — which he told me led Nation to fire him.

In the end, he simply printed his own reports in his Consortium News.

He received high accolades abroad — including Britain’s Martha Gellhorn award. But this great American reporter was a prophet outcast in his own land.'>>>

Parry in his last years was nothing more than a Putinist stooge...

His "reporting" on Ukraine and especially the shootdown of MH-17 was pure, unfiltered dezinformatsiya - "deza" (disinformation) and was indefensible by even the loosest professional journalistic standard. I e-mailed him on a few occasions for a correction after his shit would get debunked and never got a response...

If you want to remember him, I suggest you remember the writer he was a lifetime ago instead of the soulless husk he was. Out of respect for the dead I won't link to his "greatest hits" here, but anyone who wants to see them can just do a quick search.

He was so very awesome ... always responded to my questions, encouraged me to follow the money ... allowed reprints ... sent me books ...
