Fox News Kremlin Ties Go Much Deeper Than Just Sean Hannity
http://observer.com/2018/04/report-says-fox-news-allows-putin-regime-to-edit-content-in-latvia/With the revelation that Hannity shares an attorney with the presidentnamely the disgraced Michael Cohen, whos now a key player in the Department of Justices investigation of the White House and its secret Kremlin linksits high time to ask exactly what sort of journalism Hannity is pushing at Fox News.
Moreover, when coupled with my previous revelations of Hannitys reporting of rancid disinformation scripted by Russian intelligence as news, plus his clandestine relationship with WikiLeakssaid by President Donald Trumps own CIA director to be a Kremlin frontFox News is making itself a player not just in the Trump administration, but a target of any fair and balanced investigation of it.

Lets be perfectly clear here: Fox News is requiring its content being broadcast in a country that is a member of both NATO and the European Union to be edited to be more pleasing to the regime of Vladimir Putin. This is no small matter in Latvia, a country of only two million people, more than one-quarter of whom are ethnic Russians. That minority is habitually exploited by Moscow in its propaganda aimed at NATOs eastern frontier. For years, the Kremlin has waged an aggressive, full-spectrum information war against Latvia, attempting to foment divisions in that country by making its Russian minority feel alienated and more loyal to Moscow than to Riga. In extremis, many Latvians worry, this noxious disinformation campaign could be a precursor to an actual Russian invasionan event that has happened several times in the small countrys history.

(613 posts)If the Russians wanted to harm America, they could do nothing better than co-opt Fox, that source of division, hate, and fear in this country.
In fact, if you were an enemy of America, and wanted to destroy America, helping the GOP billionaires who want to capture all the wealth in the economy is a great way to go.

(15,645 posts)without clear evidence that they deliberately colluded with the Russian government for a clearly and unmistakably treasonous purpose. A news agency influencing an election? Nothing new or necessarily treasonous in that. The media has always played an influential role whether we like it or not.

(613 posts)The FARA law is effective because of the way propaganda works.
Once the bias of a source is disclosed, its propaganda becomes much less effective.
If Fox is shown to have conspired with Russia, they are done. They might hang on for years but their audience and influence will be decimated.
Lets pray the same happens for right wing propaganda talk radio.

I trust Schindler. Don't dun him for your dislike for the Observer.

(82 posts)It will be real simple when the Democrats take the House back: together they will bring Sean Hannity and Michael Cohen into congress for a little talk....I am not so sure Vlad Putin is real happy about Sean Hannity being exposed any way...I have questions over this?
