Will Trump scare some sense into the Democrats?

While the Democratic presidential candidates tear each other to pieces, President Trump is sending a message to the country: The rule of law means nothing to him. He will weaponize the federal government to his own political purposes, and things will only get worse if he’s reelected.

Trump has said many awful things, but here are his most chilling words yet: “I’m actually, I guess, the chief law enforcement officer of the country.”

Trump as “the chief law enforcement officer” is akin to putting the Houston Astros in charge of policing cheating in Major League Baseball.

It should worry Democrats that as the dangers posed by four more years of Trump (and two more years of a supine GOP Senate) become clearer, their presidential race may be coming down to a choice between a billionaire and a democratic socialist. “?’Tis the final conflict,” as “The Internationale,” the old anthem of the left, put it. It’s hard to imagine a confrontation more likely to shatter the party.

Nope, that choice doesn't worry me. Dems don't vote for Republicans. We'll pick the right person.

debate is called off when it is tRump's turn? He is no match for any of the democratic candidates, not in intelligence, or knowledge. He is a DUD, and he proves it every time he tweets or speaks. He knows it, too. That is why he disparages EVERYONE who refuses to kiss his flabby orange arse. This gig as president has been very lucrative for him, at taxpayer expense, and he does not want to lose it. Not to mention the lawsuits waiting for him when he loses the next election.

4. Meh. If we as a party vote for a mega-billionaire

who is a Democrat only so he can beat tRump, we deserve to be fractured in my opinion. Sorry. But Bloomberg’s no Democrat by any measure and I can’t think of a worse outcome for our country than to see a mega-billionaire essentially buy the WH using fear as the incentive. I would say we already have that but tRump’s no billionaire and never was.

The one-two punch of tRump-Bloomberg will be the absolute death knell for democracy.

If our primary, overriding goal is to vote Trump out, and the mechanism is 'absolutely any Democrat', I don't think a mutilated corpse is going to show up on our doorsteps if we succeed.

First things first: get rid of Trump. If we don't accomplish that, nothing else will matter.
