Republicans' 'uplifting' convention turned into a rage-fest

Opinion by Dana Milbank

President Trump over the weekend said he expected a “very uplifting and positive” convention.

Uh-oh. Dude must have gotten into the hydroxychloroquine again.

The Republican National Convention on its opening day was as uplifting as the apocalypse, as positive as perdition.

“The woke-topians,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) warned, “will disarm you, empty the prisons, lock you in your home and invite MS-13 to live next door, and the police aren’t coming when you call.”

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News personality and current girlfriend of Donald Trump Jr., informed the convention that Democrats “want to destroy this country and everything that we have fought for and hold dear. They want to steal your liberty, your freedom. They want to control what you see and think and believe so that they can control how you live. They want to enslave you to the weak, dependent, liberal victim ideology, to the point that you will not recognize this country or yourself.”

For decades after the end of WWII, the soldiers of the Third Reich were touted for their ferocious courage in battle, their energy, their stoicism against hunger, cold, going days without rest or sleep in order to conquer all of Europe, etc. It was chalked up to discipline, training, and unswerving loyalty to their nation.

Turns out, it was methamphetamine the whole time...

That is all the Republicans have to offer. They truly believe the American people are STUPID and incapable of thinking for themselves.

What every Trumper speaker tells you, is what is happening in their Trump Party.

and it still hasn't happened yet. BS as usual. And as usual, they can't even tout their accomplishments because they don't have any, so they have to instead, attack others' records.

But with the corruption in place now at the WH and throughout rump's administration, the corruption is running unchecked into all parts of government. Months and years of rehab will await Biden and his crew of hard working Americans, and all of us working together, along w/ the FBI (a delicious irony) and other intelligence agencies, will provide Biden's prosecutors a significant portion of the crimes that these thugs committed against this Country.

ESP with many people unemployed, tired of limited open states due to the virus. Many voters are scared and this convention plays right into their fears.
Just saying.

Not what they see.

Virus has the major billing here.....causing skyrocketing unemployment, poor economy (unless you're a real estate investor), and death for thousands.

This is personal.

I'm surprised the sheeple can't see how if you listen real hard what they're talking about is trumps America.
