To those who say, “Let Trump be Trump,” I say this: You can no longer separate who he is and what his character is like from your own personal values simply because he is doing what you want him to do. When you support him, you are endorsing his biases, his dysfunctional administration, and his strategy of separating our nation into two camps that will eventually clash with even more tragic results. In a very real sense, you will have become him. Is that truly what you want?
