4. I've seen these videos that clearly show MPEG4 video coding artifacts...

...yet folks don't understand what they're seeing.

I say that as someone who worked for years as an engineer helping develop audio & video coding algorithms, & later as a video producer who had final say on every piece of content we made, which included looking for all those coding artifacts in content that was encoded for DVD or (at the time) playback from a Sencor server.

It's a curse now, especially when we watch streaming content & I see macro blocking, or color banding, or mosquito noise etc & I end up losing track of the dialog because I'm focusing on how I could have reduced the video artifacts in the scene LOL!!!

Edit to add: The changing pupils are a clear sign of MPEG macro blocking, not a reptilian!
