Secretary Of State Antony Blinken Takes Oath On Constitution Instead Of Bible.

'Good News: In a symbolic victory for secular values, new Secretary Of State Antony Blinken takes the oath of office on a copy of the U.S. Constitution, instead of the Bible.

The New York Times reports:

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered the oath of office to Antony J. Blinken on Wednesday, his first full day leading the State Department.

Photos from the event show Blinken taking the oath of office on a copy of the U.S. Constitution.'

All oaths of office should be done on the U.S. Constitution, they're swearing to defend it from all enemies
foreign and republican. Plus evangelicals have had their fingers and noses in our government long enough.
Time for some Democrats who know how to love their neighbor as themselves.

Because I don't think there's anyone who thinks there will be a special supernatural price to pay for invoking the constitution and then breaking your 'oath', which is, after all, the point of swearing on bibles, korans etc.

If you think there are gods that are going to judge you (now, or in an afterlife) based on whether you are true to your pledge, then fine, find a book to make it clear that's what you're doing; if not, then you're affirming your understanding of your legal duties in your office and that you intend to fulfill them. A written work in your hand doesn't alter that.
