America's economy is booming, but Republicans are miserable

Unemployment is shrinking. The stock market is booming. Americans are returning to the skies and even to movie theaters. And yet Republicans are deeply worried about the state of the economy.

Even though the US economy is expected to grow this year at the fastest pace in decades, consumer sentiment among self-identified Republicans is worse today than during the height of the pandemic, according to the University of Michigan.

In fact, Republicans are more pessimistic than at any point since September 2010, when the economy was just beginning to dig out of the Great Recession.

Meanwhile, consumer sentiment among self-identified Democrats is higher than at any point during the presidency of Donald Trump — even though unemployment was far lower then than it is today.

Billionaires aren't getting another tax cut. Won't someone think about the poor billionaires? - The GOP

It's all really horrible for people who promote the myth that Democrats are bad for the economy

That's why they keep complaining about inflation and claiming no one wants to work anymore (at low wages). Just wait until infrastructure spending is passed.

Repukes take control of the government, cut taxes, explode the deficit.

Democrats take over and fix the economy. Repukes complain about the deficit, saying it's cause is Social Security and Medicare spending, conveniently forgetting about their massive tax cuts for billionaires. (refer to Moscow Mitch's comments)

Americans forget what destruction the Repukes did and elect them into office again.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Frankly, I'm getting sick of it.

Currently, I am not the biggest fan of Cenk Uygur, but his words are the proper response to this story. For some Republicans, they are just angry the economy is doing well under President Joe Biden. For some other Republicans, there source of worry may come from where they are getting their news. There is a certain segment of the Republican Party that is getting its news solely from right wing and far right wing new channels and websites. Those channels and websites are likely telling its viewers that the economy is going to collapse at any moment. Who knows what else they are being told on those channels and websites? I am assuming that much of what was mentioned in the above article (stock market hitting record highs and the economy expected to grow about 7.5% in 2021) is not being mentioned on Fox News.
