Republicans are already running scared on abortion and they should be

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida wanted to talk about anything but abortion when he was asked whether the issue would motivate GOP voters in next year's midterms.

“They’re talking about inflation. They’re talking about the border. They’re talking about the Afghanistan debacle. They’re talking about parental involvement in education,” Scott, the Senate GOP campaign chief, told The Washington Post. “If you look at the polls and what people are caring about, that’s what they’re focused on.”

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who is facing a challenge next year from Democratic Rep. Val Demings, downplayed the matter in his reelection bid.

“It’s never been a political issue to me,” he said, noting he errs on the side of life. “So that’s been my position pretty consistently, and there’s no mystery about it.”

I don't think enough people on our side think we're in as precarious a spot as we are.

Republican men FAVOR Government CONTROLLING a woman's body, but not their own.

VIAGRA....yeah
BIR5H CONTROL...Nay

Once Safe abortions becomes illegal, Republicans will come after Birth Control of any kind. And then watch the women revolt. Those stupid enough to continue to vote and support Republicans, deserve to be CONTROLLED and have their rights taken away.

Most people are in favor of legalized abortion in some form, but it is not a "single issue" voting priority for many of them.

The Supremes won't overturn Roe, they will just water it down to make it meaningless. That way they will avoid the stark headlines of "Supreme Court overturns Roe".

In most states, abortion will still be legal (in some form), diluting the political impact.

After all, it's the Supreme Court that's making the decision.
It's not their fault if Roe/Wade goes down.
Except that it really is. The Senate approved those three justices that will all probably vote to overturn Roe/Wade.
If it happens, how many Republicans in Congress will support a law that restores a woman's right to choose whether or not to have an abortion?

This has always been a political issue for the Republicans, regardless of what they say.
Straddling the fence between right to life and women's rights is a good way to get splinters in your ass.
I hope it hurts.
