Ukraine's Air Force has added about 20 more operational aircraft after influx of spare parts,

senior US defense official says

(CNN)The Ukrainian Air Force has added about 20 more operational aircraft to its fleet because of an influx of spare parts, according to a senior US defense official.

Though the official wouldn't specify which country had provided the aircraft parts, the official said Wednesday that the US and other countries had worked "to get them the parts they need to get them in the air."

The flow of spare parts has allowed Ukraine to expand its fleet of operational military aircraft, despite Russia's ongoing invasion. The country has more aircraft now than it did three weeks ago, the official said.

On Wednesday, the official Twitter account of Ukraine's Air Force said, "Ukraine did not receive new aircraft from partners! With the assistance of the US Government, @KpsZSU received spare parts and components for the restoration and repair of the fleet of aircraft in the Armed Forces, which will allow to put into service more equipment."

If the Rooskis get picky about the Ukrainian air force’s new planes, maybe some wizenheimer could claim that a couple of them used to be those jets that Saddam Hussein buried in the Iraqi desert after Operation Desert Storm.

A million tanks are useless if they don't have spark plugs.

Every problem that comes with keeping tanks operational in the field is magnified with poorly-trained troops. Not to mention that, with a crew of three instead of four as is standard on Western tanks, the challenges of field maintenance on Russian-built tanks increase by 25% across the board.

I've seen videos of Ukranians using captured Russian tanks -- they use a human loader and increase the crew to four.

a T-72-80-90-series tank, even if they removed the auto-loader mechanism.
