MAGA Republicans are seething with rage because Biden hit his target
Republicans are in a rage over President Bidens speech in Philadelphia, in which he flatly declared that the American democratic experiment is in serious danger due to Donald Trump and the Republicans who remain allied with his political project.
So heres a question for those Republicans: What exactly in Bidens speech was wrong?
Many objections have been general: Republicans say his speech disparaged millions, that it was angry, or divisive, or political, or hateful, or depicted Republicans as the enemy.
In coming days, these Republicans will retreat into right-wing media safe spaces to fulminate without facing cross-examination. But when they venture into mainstream forums, they should be pressed on specifics.

(10,252 posts)Gosh, Joe's speech hurt their feelings. It labeled them "unAmerican" because they refuse to accept the results of an election where their guy lost.
And who are they to accuse anyone of being divisive? Their hypocrisy reeks to high heaven.
They are entrenched in the delusion that they are the only real true Americans, and we are satanic communist pedophiles.

They would rather take away a service from someone in poverty than reduce a tax break for a millionaire. They would rather overthrow the government than live with the oppositions party leadership.
The republican party is extreme and unamerican. Republicans know this but don't have the courage to change it, so they try to join it.

(3,913 posts)...when they attacked Congress by overrunning the U.S. Capitol. And they have continued to push this anti-American, anti-patriotic political tripe, based on a baseless lie and unproven conspiracy theories. So the arrests, guilty verdicts, confessions and prison time being served by those who were part of that mob are justified under the rule of law. Support for the law enforcement officers, justice department and judicial system which is prosecuting these cases is evidence of support for the rule of law.
No one declared them as an enemy, or made them one. They did it to themselves with their civil war threats and Trump threatening violence and inciting them. They can come back any time by dumping their loyalty to him and his minions and giving it back to the constitution.
The Democrats are standing with law enforcement against those who attacked them, with the rule of law against a lawless mob advocating for more lawlessness, and for truth and integrity against fraudulent attempts to steal the election with phony electors who actually allowed their names to be put on those seditious, fake ballots that were to be submitted to Congress. Everyone who took part in that seditious insurrection and everyone who supports it has made themselves the enemies of American freedom and democracy, and of the American people.

So if a Republican is whining in pain, the shoe must fit.

(6,240 posts)A true and fair depiction.
That's why they got angry. They know what they are; plain and simply facists; dedicated to the overthrow of the US Democratic Republic, with the intent on installing a Putin style dictatorship.
Their problem is that they only see freedom as something they deserve and they control. Everyone else, those who would grant freedom to everyone, is the enemy.
This is the wrong country to try that shit in. We have far too many different racial, ethnic, religious, and social groups. You're not going to get enough of any one group to make that stick.
White supremacists comprise a large minority...but still a minority. And not all whites are willing to go along with that idea...example me, my wife, and daughter.
If push came to shove, the white supremacist movement is perhaps not even a majority in the white race.
Certainly not when the decision is to break the nation and allow a dictator to rule.

(3,913 posts)and to the tightening polls like McCarthy's claim that they will investigate the Biden administration on everything "when" they get control of the House, and Trump's jumping to real extremes on a second-rate extremist talk show claiming he will pardon the January 6th criminals are signs that they know they are headed for a beating.
