'Lowest of the low': ESPN analyst shreds Trump-loving Brett Favre for alleged welfare fraud scheme
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre, who enthusiastically endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election, has been implicated in a potentially fraudulent welfare scheme in which funds intended for Mississippi's neediest residents were used to build a volleyball center at the University of Mississippi, where his daughter was a student who just happened to play volleyball.

(182,791 posts)Brett Favre has been accused of sending pictures of a certain something via text message and has been sued by two former Jet employees for sexual harassment.
But that's nothing compared to his sister Brandi.
She was arrested on Jan. 12th for being part of a meth lab bust in Mississippi.

Brett Favre's brother, Scott, was pardoned by Mississippi governor Republican Haley Barbour in his last day of office on Tuesday, one of nearly 200 people pardoned.
Scott spent a year under house arrest and two years on probation for a drunk driving crash in 1996 that killed his best friend.

A former Miss Teen Mississippi, Brandi first tangled with the law in 1996 when she was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon during a drive-by shooting near a motel in Louisiana. No one was injured in the shooting and Brandi, then 20, completed a diversion program to remove the arrest from her record.
Her brother Brett described the incident the following year to an interviewer for Playboy: "She was giving another girl and the girl's boyfriend a ride home. The boyfriend had had an argument with another guy at a party, and the boyfriend shot at him from the car. Brandi told the truth and she was fine."

Only that wasn't the end of Brandi's troubles with the law. In 1999, when she was 23, Brandi was arrested for felony shoplifting, along with two other women, including her sister-in-law Rhonda Doyle Favre, who is married to Brandi and Brett's brother Jeff.
On their way home, Scott, who was driving, stopped on a railroad track. A 49-car freight train slammed into the car, killing Haverty and injuring Scott. Later, Scott's blood alcohol level was found to be 0.23, more than twice the legal limit.
Scott was convicted of vehicular manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years -- 14 or which were suspended -- and a year of house arrest.

(182,791 posts)I do know that he was the QB on the football team. He probably went to class but it wouldnt surprise me if he just coasted.
So. Miss at the time said anyone anywhere because they played every night of the week and would play warm up money games. Marshall Colorado State and even Florida State followed much the same model. They were good. I also remember them being considered assassins. The recruited players other schools couldnt touch.

(7,939 posts)Is Brett Favre in hot water down in Mississippi? Legal experts and analysts will determine that much, and ultimately so will the court, but the latest reporting from Anna Wolfe of Mississippi Today is certainly connecting Favre to an alleged welfare scheme.
Text messages were entered into a Mississippi state civil lawsuit that connected former Mississippi governor Phil Bryant and Favre to a woman named Nancy New, who pleaded guilty to misusing public welfare money in April 2022. New's nonprofit "was in charge of spending tens of millions of flexible federal welfare dollars outside of public view."
"Nancy New and Zachary New acknowledged spending welfare grant money on lavish gifts that included first-class airfare for John Davis, executive director of the state Department of Human Services from 2016 to 2019," the report read at the time. "Nancy New, 69, and Zachary New, 39, agreed to testify against others in what the state auditor has called Mississippi's largest public corruption case in the past two decades. Davis is among those facing state charges."

(16,949 posts)all white r's the last 20 years. Chris's comments remind me of the r state politicians taking over Detroit's city government because the r's thought the state government was incompetent. How come Dems aren't jumping on ms. state government and relieving them of thier duties? If it were a boxing match, I think the Detoit city government would give ms. state government a black eye.
r's are ridiculously cruel, venal, crooked and amoral.
