It would not be spooky places the pentagrams, human sacrifice, alters made of skulls, and demonic idols.

No, it would be a "Fundamentalist Christian" church that praised Jesus, while pushing dogmas that are contrary to everything he taught.

I made an interesting discovery many years ago, when family, friends and neighbors would invite me to their "Christian" church: Jesus would be mentioned scores of times during the service, but he would NEVER, be quoted. It was usually, all Paul, all the time.

about wolves in sheep's clothing, about the deceitful Anti-Christ.

They ignore all that and instead embrace worldly temptation.

May the scales fall from their eyes, may they look in the mirror and see themselves truthfully reflected, may they turn from the errs of their ways.

Amen.

I think the percentages of people who are actually Christians and the number who actual;ly really are is way off. Back in the day I believe many who claimed Christianity were just really afraid to tell the truth...

She has been free of the money-sucking, platitude-spewing beast for six years now. Her transformation from a conservative Christian republican to a liberal Democratic atheist is due entirely to Donald Trump and the evangelical embrace of his tawdry, squalid lifestyle.

Her transformation was marvelous to behold and a long time coming. I'm so proud of her.

The churches will say people are leaving because they are hungry for the “truth”, then proceed with a sermon that doubles down on republican lies.

😹 After what I went through at assemblies of gawd...

Glad they are escaping.

I am an atheist with a hobby of doing weird rituals. There is still an unknown out there I call it Sekhmet. Its the handle for it I use in ritual.
Do rituals work, dunno. Have to watch out for that confirmation bias tho.

Are there gods?
Dont know, dont care. Is there an afterlife?
Dont know dont care because I will die regardless of if I want it or not.

Death is either lights out, or an even greater mystery regardless of what I think or want or believe.

So I will find out when I die.
Like everyone else.

Most of it is what I call Slot-Machine Christianity - push a prayer into the slot, out comes whatever you want. Only it doesn't.
