How extreme cold, inflation and spiraling costs are affecting American life.

Homelessness, inflation, and the bitter cold are taking its toll on millions of Americans. There are more homeless people in the US than the entire population of Cape Verde (in western Africa).

580,466 homeless people in the US (est. Jan 2020).

571,989 people live in Cape Verde (est. Jan 2023).

Must be much worse now.

The share of adults reporting food insecurity in their households rose significantly by June 2022, reaching a similar level (21.4 percent) to that observed in spring 2020

Food insecurity is an invisible killer in America.

Poor people are eating junk food because it's affordable, depriving themselves of nutrition. I've seen mothers buying crap for their children and the Dollar stores are selling who-knows-what because it's cheap.

Doesn't the GQP want a strong healthy labor force and military to combat China in 2025?

Thanks for the info, Marcus IM.

They want to return to the poverty, squalor, grimness, and hopelessness of Victorian times.

The soot and smog that choked London is fine with them here in the US (and the world).
