(22,794 posts)9. That has occurred to me as well. The advantage of rationing is that it would be fair because
everybody, regardless of their wealth, would be restricted to a limited use of resources that increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. But that's exactly why Republicans fight so hard against the idea of dealing with climate change. They would hate any mandated restriction on the use of resources. Just as they hated the COVID mask-wearing and vaccination mandates. They just can't comprehend the concept of doing anything they don't want to just to insure a better future for the human race. They label it "Marxism" and that's that.
