Panglossian Ed Conrad visits Up with Chris Hayes

Dr. Pangloss is a fictional character in Voltaire's book Candide who was famous for saying that this is the best of all possible worlds. If you watched former Bain executive and author Ed Conrad on Up with Chris Hayes, you saw him defend Wall Street's version of the free market as the best of all possible worlds.

He continued to defend it even after the other guests told him that at least half of Wall Street's actions were fraud! They told him that executives on Wall Street were encouraged to make fraudulant deals by their employers. At least if Americans were going to be screwed by Wall Street, they shouldn't have to be worried that they were victims of fraud to boot.

Hayes and company did a decent job of pointing out that people were no longer investing in Wall Street because they were tired of the fraud. Unfortunatly, being reasonable people, Hayes and company didn't really express the incredible outrage that exists becaus of what's going on.
